A media wall is carpentry before it is finish work
Most media walls disappoint for reasons decided long before anyone opens a paint can: the television sits too high, the cabinetry is a size that fits nothing, and the cables were an afterthought. We plan those first.
Height set from the seat
The centre of the screen belongs at eye level from where you actually sit, not centred on the wall. Getting this wrong is the single most common fault, and it cannot be fixed with finish.
Cables planned before it closes
Conduit, power and low-voltage runs go in while the framing is open, with service access left behind a removable panel. Once the millwork is finished, adding a cable means opening it up again.
Proportioned to the room
Drawer banks, open shelving and the depth of the niche are set against the ceiling height and the width of the wall — so the unit looks built for the house rather than bought for it.
Finished to cabinet standard
