How we do it

01

Fill & sand

Nail holes, dents, and seams are filled and sanded so the profile reads clean and continuous.

02

Caulk & mask

Gaps are caulked and adjacent surfaces masked for razor-sharp lines.

03

Spray or fine-brush

Enamel is applied for a hard, self-leveling, brush-mark-free surface.

04

Inspect the details

Every edge and reveal is checked in raking light before sign-off.

Walkthrough of a room finished throughout in high-gloss green enamel — walls, ceiling, window returns and door — with the light coming back off every surface.

  • Tray ceiling and crown molding

Layered tray ceiling with crown molding finished in white above a dining room, furniture still under cover.

  • Coffered ceiling detail

Close pass across a coffered ceiling showing the beam faces and returns finished in white.

  • Doors and casing

Interior doors and casing finished in white enamel, sprayed rather than brushed so no texture is left behind.

  • Window casing detail

Close detail of window casing and stool finished flush against the wall.

  • Picture-frame molding

Wall with picture-frame molding installed and finished, showing the corners and mitre joints.

  • Columns beneath a wood ceiling

Painted columns set against a stained wood ceiling in an open coastal interior.

  • Wall and trim junction

Close detail of the line where finished wall meets trim, with no build-up or overlap.

  • Column finishing in progress

A structural post part-finished, with floor protection down and the raw and coated faces both visible.

Common Questions

Trim & Door Painting FAQs

Do you spray or brush trim and doors?

Whichever gives the best result for the space — spraying for the smoothest finish on doors and new millwork, fine-brushing where masking isn't practical. Either way the goal is a hard, smooth, mark-free surface.

Can you match existing trim color?

Yes. We color-match existing trim or help you choose a crisp new white or accent for doors and millwork.

Should trim be a different sheen than walls?

Usually yes — trim and doors are typically finished in a satin or semi-gloss enamel for durability and contrast against eggshell or matte walls.
